Fayette advances new water district

Thousands of feet of new water lines could soon expand public water service in Fayette, according to the Finger Lakes Times. Town officials are moving forward with the creation of Water District No. 8, a project that would extend water infrastructure across several roads in the town.

The proposal includes roughly 76,000 linear feet of new water mains, along with a booster pump station and related equipment needed to operate the system. The project would serve areas along Leader, Kime, East Lake, Lerch, MacDougall, Yost and Poormon roads, among others.

The Town Board has determined the project will not have a significant adverse environmental impact. Plans also include construction of a new booster pumping station near the village of Waterloo’s Rose Hill water storage tank.
