A report of a trespass at a South Main Street convenience store led to the arrest of a Canandaigua man during the early morning hours of May 18.
Phillip R. Schmidt, 32, of Canandaigua, was charged with third-degree criminal trespass after police investigated a complaint at the 7-Eleven store around 3:30 a.m.
According to police, Schmidt entered the business despite having previously been trespassed from the property. Investigators said he had also been arrested on a prior occasion for the same offense.
Schmidt was located by officers and taken into custody. He was later released with an appearance ticket and is scheduled to appear in City Court at a later date.
