A rain-soaked weekend pushed sectional action into the rare territory of Sunday baseball and softball, but the extra day only added to the drama across the Wayne-Finger Lakes.
Geneva softball survived a one-run battle with Palmyra-Macedon to advance, while Dundee/Bradford and South Seneca/Romulus leaned on dominant performances in the circle from Adalyn Tham, Morgan Sutryk, and Libby Barbay. Lyons’ bats stayed scorching hot as the Lions erupted for 20 hits behind a huge day from Rylee Richardson and Peyton Bonnell, and Palmyra-Macedon baseball edged Wayne in another tight postseason matchup. Geneva baseball also kept its season alive with a sectional win over East High.

The BraveScots pulled away with a big third inning behind Adalyn Tham’s two-run triple and an RBI single from Reese Simpson. Tham earned the win in the circle, striking out six over four innings, while Morgan Sutryk closed the door with five strikeouts across three shutout innings. Korrin Yeoman and Tham each collected two hits as Dundee/Bradford also swiped four bases in the win.
Class C1 Quarterfinals

Libby Barbay starred both in the circle and at the plate for South Seneca/Romulus, striking out 12 over seven innings while also going 4-for-4 with a home run, two doubles, three RBI and three runs scored. Addie Kiser added a double and two RBI, while Lauren Gillan chipped in two hits and an RBI. Kayleigh Banfield and Karter Spaulding each scored a run in the offensive effort.
Class C1 Quarterfinals

Rylee Richardson powered the offense for the Lions with three hits, two doubles and four RBI, including a pair of run-scoring doubles in a huge fourth inning. Peyton Bonnell went 4-for-4 at the plate as Lyons piled up 20 hits overall, with Elise Wilkinson, Addison VanLare and Keira Weber also recording multi-hit games. Weber earned the win in the circle with eight strikeouts over five innings, while Richardson added four stolen bases.
