Schuyler County businesses and leaders honored at annual chamber awards luncheon

Business leaders, community organizations, and longtime contributors to Schuyler County were recognized last week during the 2026 Schuyler Tributes Awards Luncheon hosted by the Watkins Glen Area Chamber of Commerce.

The annual event, held May 13 at Diamond on Seneca, celebrated excellence in business, leadership, innovation, and community impact across Schuyler County. Chamber officials said 16 nominees were recognized this year, with more than 1,200 community votes cast in support of finalists.

Among the top honors presented was the Schuyler Legacy Award, which went to Jamie Coleman, the longtime school resource officer for the Watkins Glen Central School District. Coleman was recognized for years of service and contributions to the local community.

The Phoenix Award for Innovation and Resilience was awarded to The Bucket Bar and Grill for its adaptability and continued growth, while Lucky Hare Bar & Grill received the Emerging Business Excellence Award for what organizers described as strong momentum and community engagement.

Watkins Glen Promotions earned the Endurance Award for its longstanding role in supporting the region’s tourism economy and broader community vitality.

“We are proud of this opportunity to celebrate achievement, leadership, and the remarkable spirit of Schuyler County,” Watkins Glen Area Chamber Executive Director Nigar Hale said in a release announcing the winners.

Hale also thanked Diamond on Seneca owner Sara Abernathy for hosting the event.

The Chamber said the annual luncheon reflects its ongoing effort to recognize businesses, organizations, and individuals contributing to the county’s economic growth and community development.
