Wayne-Finger Lakes high school sports: April 27 scoreboard

The new week kicked off with a mix of dominant pitching efforts and big offensive performances across the Wayne-Finger Lakes.

In girls lacrosse, Bailey Cooper scored six goals to lead Penn Yan, while Kinsley Bree piled up seven points for Waterloo/Mynderse/Romulus and Velia DeMaria netted four goals for Geneva in a tight win.

On the softball diamond, Rylee Richardson went 4-for-4 with four RBI to power Lyons, while Haley Young and Maddi Brown combined on a shutout for Mynderse and Carmela Mazzocchi struck out 10 in Genevaโ€™s win. In baseball, Braxton Wilkes delivered a standout two-way performance for Midlakes, striking out 14 while adding three hits at the plate.

Rylee Richardson led the Lions with a 4-for-4 performance, driving in four runs and doubling in three runs during a big first inning. Lyons erupted for a large opening frame and finished with 14 hits, 14 walks, and nine stolen bases. Keira Weber was dominant in relief, striking out 10 over 4.1 hitless innings.

Carmela Mazzocchi fired a shutout for the Panthers, striking out 10 in the circle, while Kate Good doubled and scored a run and Ella Holmes also crossed the plate. For the Eagles, Reese Sinclair recorded a hit and struck out eight in the circle.

Emma Cretelle powered the Red Raiders, going 4-for-5 with a double and three singles while also pitching three innings in relief. Seager Emerick earned the win, allowing three hits and two runs over four innings with four strikeouts. Kylie Wheeler added two hits and scored twice as Pal-Mac jumped out early and stayed in control.

Gwen Panek led the Tigers with two hits, including a double, and an RBI, while Ava Panek also collected two hits and drove in a run. Tangel Williams scored twice and drew two walks as Waterloo used patience and timely hitting. For the Screaming Eagles, Emma LaBour hit a three-run home run and Emily Smith added two hits, including a triple.

Haley Young and Maddi Brown combined on a shutout in the circle for the Blue Devils, with Young striking out five over three innings. Young also went 4-for-4 at the plate, while Ally Fenton added three hits, including two doubles, and four RBI. Kyah Lajewski chipped in three hits for Mynderse. For the Mustangs, both Morgan Breuers recorded multi-hit efforts.

Braxton Wilkes starred for the Screaming Eagles, going 3-for-4 with a double and an RBI while also striking out 14 over seven innings, allowing just three hits and two earned runs. Zach Donk added two doubles and an RBI, and Nicholas Hunter reached base four times with two hits and two walks. Ayden Klapp scored twice, stole three bases and earned the win with a perfect inning in relief.
