MLB unveils 2026 All-Star Week schedule in Philadelphia

Major League Baseball will bring a weeklong slate of marquee events to Philadelphia this summer, culminating in the 2026 All-Star Game at Citizens Bank Park as part of the nation’s 250th anniversary celebration.

The 96th Midsummer Classic is set for Tuesday, July 14, following the Home Run Derby the night before. The return of the All-Star Game to Philadelphia carries historical weight, echoing 1976 when the city hosted during the U.S. bicentennial.

League officials said the timing adds a deeper layer to the annual showcase.

“As the nation marks its 250th anniversary, MLB All-Star Week in Philadelphia carries added significance, bringing one of America’s most iconic pastimes to the city where the country’s story began,” said Jeremiah Yolkut, MLB senior vice president of global operations and events.

The schedule begins Friday, July 10, with the HBCU Swingman Classic, a showcase for Division I players from historically Black colleges and universities. The event, co-created by Hall of Famer Ken Griffey Jr., highlights both talent and culture, blending competition with music and traditions rooted in HBCU programs.

All-Star Sunday on July 12 features a doubleheader with the Futures Game, spotlighting top minor league prospects, followed by MLB’s new All-Star 3-on-3 competition. The fast-paced format will include co-ed teams of players, legends and special guests in a series of short games emphasizing power hitting and defensive skill.

The Home Run Derby headlines Gatorade All-Star Workout Day on Monday, July 13, setting the stage for the All-Star Game the following night.

Fans will also have access to Capital One All-Star Village, a four-day interactive fan festival running July 11-14 at the Pennsylvania Convention Center. The event will include exhibits, youth-focused activities and appearances by former players.

For the sixth consecutive year, the MLB Draft will be held during All-Star Week, with opening rounds scheduled for July 11 at the convention center. The draft will be free and open to the public.

Additional events include the All-Star Red Carpet Show on July 14 and a series of youth tournaments across the city, including the Commissioner’s Cup and the Jennie Finch Classic, with championship games set for July 13.

Further details, including ticketing and broadcast information, are expected to be announced in the coming months.
