Wayne-Finger Lakes high school sports: April 13 scoreboard

Monday’s Wayne-Finger Lakes spring sports slate was fueled by key performances across girls lacrosse and softball. In lacrosse, Leah Sheridan erupted for five goals and two assists to lead Canandaigua, while Lila Kubrich scored five times and Meaghan O’Brien added a five-point effort to pace Victor. Zoey Overslaugh delivered a six-point outing for Newark/Midlakes. On the softball diamond, Keira Weber struck out 15 in a one-hit performance for Lyons, Ava Panek recorded three triples for Waterloo, and Jesse Newmyer powered Wayne with a four-hit day.

Keira Weber struck out 15 and allowed just one hit over five innings to lead the Lions, while Lydia Briggs went 3-for-4 with two doubles and multiple RBI. Lyons broke the game open with a five-run third inning and added six more runs in the fifth, finishing with 15 hits and eight walks.

Ava Panek led the Tigers at the plate, going 3-for-4 with three triples and three RBI, while Gwyn Panek added a triple, two runs and two walks. Gwen DiIorio earned the win in the circle and contributed two RBI, as Waterloo piled up multiple extra-base hits. For the Red Raiders, Addison Gendron and Kerrigan Connolly each collected three hits, with Gendron driving in two runs.

Jesse Newmyer powered the Eagles at the plate, going 4-for-5 with two triples, three RBI and four runs scored, while Savannah Celso added three doubles and four RBI. For the Reds, Ryann LaRue went 2-for-3 with two doubles, two runs scored and two RBI.

The Screaming Eagles totaled 13 hits in a strong offensive showing, led by Emma Labour’s 3-for-4 day with two doubles and two RBI, while Kali Freelove added two hits. Kenzie Turner earned the win and also contributed at the plate, with Emily Smith and Camryn Harris each recording multiple hits. For the Mustangs, Maddison Breuer and Abby Fischer each finished with two hits.

The Lions secured their first win behind strong pitching, holding the opposition to just three hits. Brayden Kitchen surrendered three unearned runs over 5.2 innings of work while recording six strikeouts. Austin Rice recorded the final four outs to lock down the victory. Rice and Cole Burnett each collected a pair of hits, while Kitchen, Jacob Bookmiller, and John Bullock picked up RBI.
