Emergency crews responded Monday to a construction site after a man fell from a roof.
Genoa Volunteer Fire Department and mutual aid agencies were dispatched around 2:56 p.m. to Indian Field Road.
Responders including Genoa Rescue, King Ferry Fire Department, and Southern Cayuga Instant Aid arrived and took over patient care.
Officials requested a medical helicopter due to the severity of the incident, and a landing zone was set up at the intersection of state routes 34 and 90.
After the patient was placed in an ambulance, crews canceled the helicopter response.
Southern Cayuga Instant Aid transported the injured man to Upstate Medical Center. Units cleared the scene and returned to service in just over an hour.
