A Schuyler County jury found a man guilty of burglary in connection with a 2025 incident in the Town of Hector.
Eric Walker, 43, of Newfield, was convicted of third-degree burglary, a Class D felony, following a five-day trial.
Prosecutors said the case stemmed from a Jan. 23, 2025 incident in which Walker was found inside a building on private property without permission and intended to steal items.
Officials said Walker failed to return to court after the third day of trial. A bench warrant has been issued for his arrest.
Walker faces a potential sentence of 3.5 to 7 years in state prison on the conviction. The case was investigated by New York State Police and the Schuyler County Sheriff’s Department.
