For the first time in program history, the Canandaigua Academy girls bowling team has claimed a sectional championship.
The Braves captured the Section V Class B title and finished the regular season with a 15-1 record, according to the Canandaigua City School District.
In six sets with five bowlers counting, Canandaigua posted a total score of 5,137, defeating Greece Athena by 284 pins. The team also finished second overall across Class A and B, behind Rush-Henrietta.

Junior Sadrianna Erb led the way, placing first in all of Class B with a six-game total of 1,202. She averaged just over 200 for the day and will represent Section V at the NYSPHSAA Championships in March.
Team members include Sadrianna Erb, Sophia Stevens, Payton Seeloff, Karleigh Martineau, McKenna Macri, Kira Casella and Zamayra Escobar. The team is coached by Bill Erb, Mike Tepper and Eric Mann.
The team planned to parade down Main Street before returning to Canandaigua Academy to celebrate the historic win.
