A Wayne County Fair board member just snagged a statewide spotlight, according to the Finger Lakes Times. Sarah Hamilton became the first recipient of the New York State Association of Agricultural Fairs’ Rising Star Award during the group’s January convention in Syracuse.
Organizers recognized Hamilton for her leadership and innovation in the fair industry. She manages sponsorships, ticketing, flower shows and other events for the Wayne County Fair, while also serving as a district director and young professional coordinator at the state level.
Hamilton also participates nationally through the International Association of Fairs and Expos. The 2026 Wayne County Fair runs Aug. 10-16 in Palmyra and will feature rodeo events, demolition derbies and The Flying Wallendas.
