A former Ogden police officer now faces up to six years in prison after admitting he threatened an FBI agent, according to WHAM.
Steven Ploof pleaded guilty in federal court to leaving a menacing note on an agent’s porch in September. Authorities said the message targeted the agent and his family. Later that day, Greece police accused Ploof of driving at officers during a mental health call, trying to ignite a spray can and confronting them with a machete before officers used a Taser.
He also escaped briefly from Rochester General Hospital before police recaptured him. Ploof previously served in Ogden and Orleans County before resigning in 2023.
