Deputies say a shopping trip across several Victor stores turned into more than $1,000 in stolen merchandise — and a struggle during arrest.
Courtney L. Simpson, 29, of Canandaigua, faces two counts of Petit Larceny and one count of Resisting Arrest.
Deputies arrested Simpson around 5:06 p.m. Feb. 14 at Target.
Investigators say Simpson concealed multiple pieces of merchandise from Dick’s Sporting Goods, Old Navy, and Target totaling over $1,000 across all stores.
Deputies located her at Target as she actively pushed a shopping cart of stolen merchandise out of the store.
When deputies attempted to arrest Simpson, she resisted. Deputies took her into custody after some time.
Deputies also found her in possession of stolen merchandise from Macy’s.
They transported Simpson to the Ontario County Sheriff’s Office Substation, processed her, and released her on an appearance ticket.
She will appear in Victor Town Court at a later date.
