Police recovered a stolen rifle and shotgun after responding to a vehicle break-in on Ithaca’s West End.
Jordan M. Berrios, 35, of Ithaca, faces felony charges after officers traced the stolen firearms to an apartment at Asteri Ithaca on East Green Street.
Officers responded around 6:30 a.m. Feb. 13 to the 400 block of Second Street for a reported theft from a motor vehicle. The victim told police someone stole a rifle and a shotgun overnight.
Investigators later recovered the firearms at 118 East Green St. Officers located Berrios at the apartment and took him into custody.
Police charged Berrios with criminal possession of a weapon in the third degree, a Class D felony, and criminal possession of stolen property in the fourth degree, a Class E felony.
Berrios appeared in Ithaca City Court before Judge Peacock and the court remanded him to the Tompkins County Jail.
