Hobart lacrosse was edged by Colgate, 7-6, in a defensive non-conference matchup inside the Poole Family Dome, as the Raiders received a standout performance from goaltender Andrew Lehrman, who made a career-high 21 saves.

Both teams recorded 42 shots, but Colgate controlled key possession moments, winning the ground-ball battle 33-26, including a decisive 14-6 edge in the fourth quarter. Hobart goaltender Michael Johnson finished with 14 saves for the second consecutive game. Clearing proved challenging for both sides, with Colgate going 23-of-33 and Hobart 19-of-26. The Statesmen converted twice on four man-up opportunities, while Colgate was held scoreless on five extra-man chances.
The teams traded goals throughout the first half and entered halftime tied 3-3, with Hobart goals coming from Johnny Harding, Daniel Cano and Bryce Johnson. Colgate briefly gained momentum in the third quarter, building a 6-4 lead late in the period before Hobart responded with an extra-man goal by Alex Begina to cut the deficit to one.
Hobart tied the contest at 6-6 with 5:12 remaining when Cade Dino scored his second point of the game, but Colgate regained the lead with 3:33 left after capitalizing on a turnover to net the eventual game-winner.
Dino finished with a goal and an assist to pace the Hobart offense, while David Peterkin and Gordon Bennett each recorded two assists. Seamus Schofield won 9-of-15 faceoffs for the Statesmen.
Hobart (1-1) will travel to Bucknell for its next game at 11 a.m. Saturday, February 21.
