Ribbon cutting marks new home for Seneca County Cornell Cooperative Extension

Community leaders gathered in Waterloo to celebrate a new chapter for Seneca County Cornell Cooperative Extension.

The organization hosted an open house and ribbon cutting on Thursday, January 29, welcoming staff, community members, and local officials to its new location.

The event brought together Seneca County Chamber President and CEO Jeff Shipley, chamber staff and board members, Seneca County supervisors, local government representatives, and members of the public. Staff from Cornell Cooperative Extension also attended.

Visitors toured the new space and enjoyed refreshments during the open house. The event also marked a moment of transition for the organization.

Seneca County Cornell Cooperative Extension celebrated the farewell of 4-H Educator Paige Podgorski and Environmental and Natural Resource Educator Ryan Staychock. At the same time, the organization welcomed its new 4-H Educator, Karen Burcroff.
