A vote on adding a surcharge to Merry-Go-Round Playhouse tickets hit a delay after Cayuga County postponed its January meeting, according to The Citizen. Lawmakers pushed the required public hearing to late February because state notice rules blocked a last-minute change.
The Cayuga County Legislature reset the hearing for Feb. 24 at the Ward W. O’Hara Agricultural and Country Living Museum. A final vote will likely follow that night. The surcharge idea came from The Rev Theatre Company, which runs shows at the county-owned Merry-Go-Round Playhouse.
Legislature chair Jonathan Anna said the group operates without a finalized lease, and the surcharge could help fund repairs and maintenance.
