Auburn City Council to consider tax levies, policies and contracts tonight

The Auburn City Council is scheduled to consider a series of financial resolutions, policy adoptions, a professional services contract and an appointment when it meets tonight at Memorial City Hall.

Among the primary items on the agenda are two financial resolutions related to 2026 taxes. Council members are expected to vote on a resolution establishing the 2026 Seymour Library tax levy and a separate resolution adopting the 2026 Cayuga County tax rate, including the City of Auburn’s share of Cayuga Community College charges.

The council is also set to consider several resolutions adopting or updating city policies. These include a resolution to adopt the City of Auburn investment policy, a resolution establishing a budget calendar for preparation of the 2026–2027 fiscal year city budget, and a resolution authorizing the adoption of a city procurement and surplus policy.

In addition to financial and policy matters, council members are scheduled to vote on an award resolution authorizing a professional services contract for a transmission main replacement and reservoir rehabilitation project. Supporting documents for the project are included in the meeting packet.

The agenda also includes an appointment resolution to fill a position on the Board of Assessment Review.

The council is scheduled to approve minutes from the Jan. 8 and Jan. 15 City Council meetings and receive reports from the city manager and members of council. No ordinances, local laws or State Environmental Quality Review Act resolutions are listed on the agenda.
