FLCC offers free AI focus group webinar

Finger Lakes Community College is inviting the public to learn how artificial intelligence can replace traditional focus groups during a free online webinar next month. The session will show how AI-generated personas can help users explore ideas, test strategies, and gather feedback quickly.

The webinar runs at noon Tuesday, Feb. 10, and will take place on Zoom. It will last about 30 to 40 minutes and include a live question-and-answer session. Registration is available through the events calendar on the FLCC website.

Adam Heidebrink-Bruno, a digital content specialist at FLCC, will lead the presentation titled “The Virtual Roundtable: Building Perspective with AI Personas.” He will demonstrate how simulated focus groups can be used for project planning and strategic thinking without the cost or scheduling challenges of recruiting real participants.

According to the college, AI personas allow users to explore multiple viewpoints at once and test ideas early in the process. The webinar will also cover how to design personas that reflect real stakeholder positions and how to spot bias and blind spots to support more inclusive decision-making.

The webinar will be recorded and later shared on FLCC’s YouTube channel and the Finger Lakes TV network.

The Feb. 10 session is part of an ongoing webinar series hosted by the FLX AI Hub at FLCC. The next webinar is scheduled for March 10 and will focus on using NotebookLM to summarize, analyze, and create content quickly. The AI Hub launched in June 2025 to expand access to artificial intelligence for education, workforce training, and local businesses, with additional courses and in-person events planned this year.
