Local Republicans set their 2026 slate in Auburn, backing candidates from Congress down to county offices, according to The Citizen. The Cayuga County GOP made the endorsements ahead of a party event headlined by gubernatorial hopeful Bruce Blakeman.
The party chose Rob Franklin for sheriff, John Lemondes for Assembly, and Rich McCarron to challenge Democratic Sen. Rachel May. Prosecutor Chris Valdina earned the nod for county court judge.
The committee also endorsed Rep. Claudia Tenney and several incumbent county officials.
