The Buffalo Bills lost another member of their coaching staff this week as special teams coordinator Chris Tabor was hired by the Miami Dolphins for the same role, ESPN’s Adam Schefter reported Friday night. Tabor spent one season with Buffalo after joining the organization in 2025.
During his lone year with the Bills, Tabor oversaw notable improvements on special teams, particularly in the kick return game late in the season. Under his direction, running back Ray Davis finished as the NFL’s leading kick returner, averaging 30.4 yards per return and earning All-Pro honors. Tabor also managed a challenging season in the kicking unit due to injuries, including time missed by Tyler Bass, which required multiple in-season adjustments.
Tabor’s departure is the latest change in a busy offseason for Buffalo. Earlier this week, the Bills parted ways with head coach Sean McDermott and began interviewing candidates for the opening. In addition, offensive line coach Aaron Kromer announced his retirement after helping guide one of the league’s most productive offensive lines over the past four seasons.
Tabor previously coached with the Chicago Bears, Cleveland Browns, and Carolina Panthers.
