A midday crash on Route 90 sent a young driver to the hospital after a head-on collision with a tractor-trailer, according to officials. State police said the wreck happened Monday in the town of Genoa.
Troopers said Cameron C. Sheils, 24, lost control of his westbound Nissan Sentra around noon, crossed into the eastbound lane, and struck a Peterbilt truck head-on. Both vehicles left the roadway, and the car overturned.
Sheils was trapped, extricated by firefighters, and airlifted to Upstate University Hospital. Police said the truck driver suffered minor injuries and declined treatment.
