Lt. Gov. Antonio Delgado slammed Albany’s lack of ambition while laying out his own vision for New York, according to The Citizen. Speaking in Auburn, Delgado told a packed crowd the system is failing working families and needs bolder leadership.
Delgado used the stop on his State of the People Tour to directly counter Gov. Kathy Hochul’s State of the State address, arguing it ignored the economic pain many New Yorkers feel. He called for higher taxes on the wealthy, statewide rent stabilization, rental assistance, and help for first-time homebuyers.
He also backed a single-payer health care system, stronger immigrant protections, and public campaign financing, saying his run gives voters a real choice in the Democratic primary.
