Bills WR Gabe Davis to miss remainder of playoffs with torn ACL

The Buffalo Bills will be without wide receiver Gabe Davis when they travel to Denver to face the Broncos in the divisional round of the playoffs on Saturday.

Head coach Sean McDermott confirmed Monday that Davis suffered a torn ACL, ending his season. An MRI revealed the injury after significant swelling in Davis’ knee made an immediate diagnosis difficult following Sunday’s game.

Davis exited Buffalo’s 27-24 wild-card victory over the Jacksonville Jaguars in the fourth quarter with an apparent knee injury and did not return. After the game, he was seen wearing a brace and using crutches. Davis later posted on social media, telling fans he will “shake back.”

The 26-year-old appeared in six games this season, recording 12 receptions for 129 yards and a touchdown after opening the year on injured reserve while recovering from a torn PCL suffered last season.

In 70 career games with Buffalo, Davis has totaled 175 catches for 2,859 yards and 28 touchdowns. His absence leaves Buffalo adjusting its passing game as the postseason continues.

Additionally, the Bills received good news regarding two players who have missed months. The team opened the 21-day practice windows for defensive tackle Ed Oliver and wide receiver Curtis Samuel, allowing both players to return to practice while continuing their recoveries from Injured Reserve. It remains to be seen if the two have any chance of playing Saturday.
