Bills open practice windows for DT Ed Oliver, WR Curtis Samuel

The Buffalo Bills received good news Monday regarding two players who have missed months ahead of their divisional round matchup against the Denver Broncos on Saturday.

Head coach Sean McDermott announced that Buffalo has opened the 21-day practice windows for defensive tackle Ed Oliver and wide receiver Curtis Samuel, allowing both players to return to practice while continuing their recoveries from Injured Reserve.

Oliver has been sidelined since October 28 after suffering a torn biceps. During his rehabilitation, he also sustained a meniscus injury that required a medical procedure, extending his time away from the lineup. Samuel has been on IR since November 28 while recovering from neck and elbow injuries.

A potential return by Samuel would be significant for a Buffalo receiving group that has been hit hard by injuries in recent weeks. Wide receiver Joshua Palmer was placed on IR prior to last weekend’s playoff win over the Jacksonville Jaguars due to an ankle injury, and Gabe Davis suffered a season-ending ACL tear in that game.

Buffalo’s first official injury report for the week is scheduled to be released Tuesday, which should provide further clarity on the status of Oliver and Samuel.
