A Seneca County investigation into public assistance benefits led to an arrest this week, according to the Sheriff’s Office.
Investigators arrested 45-year-old Carrie Spratley of Fayette on Jan. 7 and charged her with grand larceny in the fourth degree and misuse of food stamps.
Sheriff Timothy Thompson said the charges stem from an investigation that alleged Spratley failed to properly report her income to the Seneca County Department of Human Services.
Authorities processed Spratley and released her on an appearance ticket, the Sheriff’s Office said.
