A reported domestic violence incident in the Town of Ira led to a felony arrest.
Deputies arrested a woman after responding to a residence on Dec. 21 for a report of injuries.
Investigators identified Marissa P. Clinch, 34, of Vernan Corners, as the suspect. Deputies said she struck a male victim in the back of the head with a hammer while he was on the ground, causing a laceration. They also said she damaged the victim’s motorcycle with the hammer.
Clinch fled the scene before deputies arrived and was later located in Oneida County by New York State Police. Authorities charged her with criminal possession of a weapon in the third degree, assault in the second degree, and criminal mischief in the fourth degree.
Clinch was arraigned and committed to the Cayuga County Jail. She later returned to Ira Town Court.
