UR and UR Medicine employ more than 39,000 people and rank as the largest private employer in upstate New York. Health care operations generate over $660 million a year in community benefits, while research activity pulls in nearly $500 million in outside funding.

Capital projects, student and visitor spending, and alumni activity add hundreds of millions more, reinforcing UR’s role as a major driver of jobs, innovation, and regional stability.
