Canisteo woman violates court order, now faces felony charge

Deputies arrested a Canisteo woman after responding to a reported violation of an order of protection in Greenwood.

The Steuben County Sheriff’s Office said deputies responded to Fenton Avenue on Dec. 13 for a report that a court order had been violated. Investigators determined Nikki M. Innes-Cook, 55, intentionally violated a duly served order of protection that required her to stay away from a specific person and residence .


Deputies charged Innes-Cook with first-degree criminal contempt, a class E felony. Authorities said she was arraigned in Centralized Arraignment Court and later released.

The investigation was handled by the Steuben County Sheriff’s Office.
