Penn Yan police arrested a Canisteo man on DWI and alcohol-related charges following a traffic stop on Liberty Street on Aug. 26.
Sage T. Kilsdonk-Klees, 20, was stopped for an equipment violation after police said his vehicle left the roadway and drove over a curb. Officers said they found beer, marijuana and an open container of alcohol in the driver’s seat and observed signs of intoxication.
Police said Kilsdonk-Klees failed standardized field sobriety tests and was taken into custody. He was transported for a blood test to determine his blood alcohol content but refused the test, according to police.
Kilsdonk-Klees was charged with common-law DWI, two counts of consumption of alcohol in a motor vehicle, underage possession of alcohol, inadequate stop lamp and moving from lane unsafely.
He was processed at the Penn Yan Police Department and taken to the Yates County Jail to await centralized arraignment.
