A man’s meth and fentanyl sales in Syracuse last year just earned him a decade behind bars.
Cyril Swan, 30, admitted to dealing both drugs during the summer of 2024. He sold about 100 grams of methamphetamine and 8 grams of fentanyl, according to the U.S. Attorney’s Office for the Northern District of New York.
A federal judge sentenced Swan to 120 months in prison. He’ll also serve five years of supervised release once he’s out.
Officials said the case sends a message.
“Peddling dangerous drugs like fentanyl and methamphetamine in this District will not be tolerated,” said Acting U.S. Attorney John Sarcone. “I commend ATF for getting this dealer off the streets for 10 years.”
Bryan DiGirolamo, special agent in charge of the ATF’s New York Field Division, credited a strong team effort.
“This sentence reflects the strong, coordinated work of ATF NY and our partners in Syracuse,” he said.
The Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives led the investigation. They worked with the Syracuse Police Department’s Criminal Intelligence Division and the New York State Police’s Community Stabilization Unit. Assistant U.S. Attorney Jessica N. Carbone prosecuted the case.
