A women-led Ithaca startup is turning calcium supplements into real food—and just won $500,000 to grow faster, according to the Cornell Chronicle.
Seen Nutrition, co-founded by Cornell lecturer Adrienne Bitar and pharmacist Jennifer Han, won big at the Grow-NY food innovation competition. Their calcium chews—made from milk, dates, almonds, and mushrooms—aim to help women fight osteoporosis with a tasty, absorbable alternative to chalky pills.
The company plans to hire in Ithaca and expand nationally. Seen already operates within the local supply chain and has grown 30% monthly since launching in 2024.
