The Yates County Legislature approved the 2026 county budget during a special meeting held last night. The budget was adopted following a public hearing held just beforehand.
According to Resolution 505-25, the adopted budget was initially presented by the Budget Officer as the Tentative Budget and formally adopted by the Legislature through a previous resolution, No. 471-25. The Nov. 20 public hearing fulfilled legal requirements prior to final approval under Section 360 of New York County Law.
Copies of the resolution will be provided to the Budget Officer, County Administrator, Director of Finance, and the County Treasurer.
Airport contract reassigned to new vendor
In another action, the Legislature authorized the transfer of a service agreement for the Penn Yan–Yates County Airport from Altaport, Inc. to Vector Airport Systems, LLC.
Under Resolution 506-25, the county gave its formal written consent to the assignment, as required by the existing agreement with Altaport. The resolution also authorized the Chair of the Legislature to sign necessary documentation to complete the reassignment process.
Relevant copies of this resolution will be distributed to the County Administrator, County Finance Director, Altaport, Inc., and Vector Airport Systems, LLC.
