Yates County legislators are set to meet Thursday evening for a special session focused on adopting the county’s 2026 budget.
The meeting, scheduled for 6 p.m. tonight, will include a formal budget presentation from the Budget Officer, followed by a vote on the final spending plan. The public hearing for the tentative budget will also take place during the session.
If approved, the resolution would make the tentative 2026 budget official, as outlined in Resolution No. -25. The meeting will be held both in person and via Zoom to allow for broader public access.
Legislators previously adopted the tentative budget in Resolution 471-25, which set the foundation for the upcoming fiscal year. Thursday’s vote finalizes that process under Section 360 of County Law.
An executive session may be held if needed.
