New trustees bring experience, energy to Keuka College board

Keuka College has added four new members to its Board of Trustees — each bringing fresh ideas and diverse experience to help shape the College’s future.

Kathy Bowles, Nyla Curry, Patricia Loveland, and Michael Meaney began their terms this fall and were formally welcomed during the Board’s first on-campus meetings of the academic year in late October.

President Amy Storey said the new trustees offer expertise in nonprofit leadership, finance, engineering, and student life — all aligning with the College’s focus on career-ready education and community engagement.

“It’s a pleasure to welcome Kathy, Nyla, Patti, and Mike,” said Storey. “Each of them embodies Keuka College’s values of hands-on learning, global awareness, and community impact.”

Student voice on the board

Nyla Curry, a third-year nursing student from Brooklyn, serves as one of two student trustees. She’s active on campus and plans to become a psychiatric nurse practitioner. Her term runs through 2027.

The other trustees bring strong community and professional backgrounds:

  • Kathy Bowles, a retired nonprofit leader from California, helped lead youth and family services efforts and has served on several philanthropic boards.
  • Patricia Loveland, a forensic accountant based in Rochester, contributes deep financial knowledge and community service experience.
  • Michael Meaney, a retired Northrop Grumman executive and Penn Yan resident, brings leadership in engineering and tech, along with mentoring experience through SCORE.

Board Chair Dr. Twyla J. Cummings said the new members will help guide Keuka through a time of “growth and opportunity.”

“They each bring unique insight and a deep commitment to Keuka College’s mission,” she said.
