Ontario County Humane Society wants 50 more animals adopted before Dec. 31, according to the Finger Lakes Times. The “Clear the Kennel” campaign follows 100 adoptions so far in 2025.
To hit its goal, the agency is offering discounts: free adoptions for veterans, first responders, and active military, plus half-off for county residents. Each pet is vaccinated, microchipped, and spayed or neutered — or comes with a prepaid voucher.
The shelter is also ramping up events and promotions as cruelty cases and related arrests hit record highs this year.
