FLCC Viticulture Center to host open house and wine tastings Nov. 22

Wine lovers and curious community members are invited to an open house at the Finger Lakes Community College Viticulture and Wine Center in Geneva on Saturday, Nov. 22.

The event runs from noon to 4 p.m. at the center’s location at 100 Empire Drive, just off Pre-Emption Road. Guests will have the chance to sample award-winning wines, tour the teaching winery, and meet the students and staff behind FLCC’s growing viticulture program.

Tastings are $10 for five samples. Reservations are encouraged and can be made by calling (585) 785-1183 or emailing [email protected].

The open house highlights the college’s role in preparing the next generation of winemakers. Earlier this year, FLCC earned a Best in Class award at the New York Wine Classic for its pétillant naturel wine—a naturally sparkling style made with wild yeast and bottled before fermentation completes.

The FLCC Viticulture and Wine Center operates as a licensed commercial winery, giving students hands-on experience in every step of winemaking, from grape to glass.
