Binghamton native wins Seattle mayoral race

Katie Wilson, who graduated second in her class from Binghamton High School in 2000, just became the next mayor of Seattle, according to WIVT.

Wilson, a democratic socialist, beat out incumbent Bruce Harrell in a tight race after topping Seattle’s non-partisan primary back in August.

She’s pushing for universal childcare, improved transit, safer streets, and affordable housing—and she’s the daughter of two Binghamton University professors.
