Officers responding to a break-in on East State Street found a man inside the business, still trying to steal merchandise.
The call came in early on November 14, with police heading to the 100 block of East State Street for a burglary in progress. When they arrived, they saw the front door had been forced open. Inside, they found the suspect actively attempting to take items.
Police arrested 47-year-old Michael D. Jones Jr., a resident of Ithaca. He was charged with third-degree burglary, a Class D felony under New York State law, and resisting arrest, a Class A misdemeanor. Jones is currently awaiting arraignment.
