A Livingston County farmer is shaking up the 2026 race for New York’s 24th Congressional District, according to the Finger Lakes Times. Kenneth Estes Jr. of Caledonia launched an independent campaign this week, pitching himself as a centrist alternative to partisan politics.
Estes joins Democrats Alissa Ellman and Diana Kastenbaum in the race to challenge Republican Rep. Claudia Tenney. Democrat Steven Holden, a former candidate, has dropped out and endorsed Kastenbaum.
Estes says his campaign will focus on sustainability, local economic growth, and political unity. His background includes degrees in environmental conservation and community development.
