Auburn is teaming up with its housing authority to apply for state funding to build 10 “cross-mod” homes on unused city land, according to The Citizen.
Cross-mod homes, which combine features of manufactured and traditional housing, are part of a push to boost affordable housing. If funded, the project would repurpose vacant properties for new residential development.
The city is eyeing the plan as a way to expand housing options without major infrastructure costs.
