Farmington woman charged with DWI after roadside investigation

A Farmington woman is facing charges after deputies say she was found driving while intoxicated with an expired registration on State Route 96.

According to the Ontario County Sheriff’s Office, 68-year-old Cynthia Ann Brightenfield was arrested on November 1 around 4:00 p.m. following a traffic stop prompted by a report of a sick or intoxicated driver.

Deputies responded to 6179 State Route 96 in the Town of Farmington, where they located and stopped Brightenfield’s vehicle. A roadside investigation determined she was allegedly intoxicated and operating with an expired vehicle registration.

She was taken into custody and transported to the Ontario County Jail, where she was processed and issued uniform traffic tickets and an appearance ticket.

Brightenfield is scheduled to appear in Farmington Town Court at a later date to respond to the charges.
