A Geneva man was arrested Thursday morning after police say he was caught holding a stolen iPad just blocks from where it was taken.
Officers with the Geneva Police Department responded to John Street around 9:30 a.m. for a report of larceny from a vehicle. A homeowner told police that someone had entered their car and stolen several valuable items, including an iPad.
During a search of the area, officers found a man holding an iPad in plain view. Police say the man, identified as 36-year-old Jonathan Gabriel Toledo, also had additional stolen items and narcotics in his possession.
Investigators later confirmed the iPad belonged to the John Street homeowner. Toledo was arrested and charged with criminal possession of stolen property in the fifth degree, a class A misdemeanor.
He was processed at the Geneva Police Department and held for arraignment. Anyone with additional information is encouraged to contact police at 315-828-6771. Tips can be submitted anonymously.
