Shoppers at Tops in Fayetteville are already donating to the “Brown Bag of Hope” campaign, which kicked off a week early due to a local SNAP crisis, according to WSYR.
The fundraiser supports the Food Bank of Central New York and features donation options tied to a store display tree offering $5, $10, and $20 meal kits. Tops usually starts mid-November, but store leaders say the pause in food assistance left many families struggling sooner than expected.
The campaign runs through Christmas Eve, with donations also accepted online.
