Former Geneva police officer arraigned on drug and misconduct charges

A former Geneva police officer has been formally charged in connection to an ongoing criminal case that already involves multiple defendants — including another former officer.

On October 29, Nathan Jacon was arraigned in Ontario County Court on several charges stemming from a grand jury indictment. He is the fourth person charged in the broader case tied to former officer Michael Tapscott.

Jacon is facing four charges, including criminal sale of a controlled substance in the 5th degree, criminal possession of a controlled substance in the 5th degree with intent to sell, criminal possession of a controlled substance in the 7th degree, and official misconduct.

The charges followed evidence presented to a grand jury earlier this month by Wayne County District Attorney Christine Callanan, who is leading the prosecution.

Jacon was released on his own recognizance after appearing before Ontario County Court Judge Reed. He is scheduled to return to court at a later date.
