SpongeBob musical hits Watkins Glen stage next month

A sea-splashed adventure is coming to Watkins Glen as the Lake Country Players gear up for their next big production: The SpongeBob Musical.

The family-friendly show runs November 14–16 at the Watkins Glen High School auditorium and features a cast of local talent bringing the beloved Bikini Bottom crew to life—complete with colorful costumes, high-energy dance numbers, and a score packed with songs by music legends like David Bowie, Cyndi Lauper, and John Legend.

Alex Gill stars as SpongeBob, joined by Brenden Wendling as Patrick, Kristy Bartenstein as Sandy Cheeks, Matthew Blodgett as Squidward, Matt Kelly as Mr. Krabs, and Casey Smith as Pearl. Directed by Anna-Beth Wheaton, with musical direction by Kim Laursen and choreography by Kelsey Gill, the production promises laughs, heart, and plenty of underwater fun.

Showtimes are 7 p.m. on November 14 and 15, and 2 p.m. on November 16. Tickets will be sold at the door (cash or check only): $15 for adults, $12 for seniors, $10 for students, and free for children under 5.
