Deputies charged a woman in Dundee after a small child was spotted running alone in the street Wednesday afternoon.
Jennifer T. Berry, 44, was arrested after Yates County deputies responded to Millard Street around 3:14 p.m. for a report of a child running in a neighbor’s yard.
According to the sheriff’s office, the child had left the home while under Berry’s supervision and was seen in the roadway before making it back safely. Deputies say the child was not injured.
Berry was charged with endangering the welfare of a child, a misdemeanor under state law.
She was issued an appearance ticket and is scheduled to answer the charge in Starkey Town Court.
