A Geneva man is facing more charges after police say he was caught stealing from a car on North Main Street Sunday evening.
Officers with the Geneva Police Department responded to the area around 7:00 p.m. after a homeowner reported someone had entered their vehicle and stolen property. The resident provided video footage, which helped officers quickly identify and locate a suspect nearby.
Police arrested 36-year-old Jonathan Gabriel Toledo after finding some of the stolen items in his possession. A search also turned up crack cocaine in his pocket, according to the department.
Toledo was charged with petit larceny and criminal possession of a controlled substance.
He was processed and taken to the Ontario County Jail for arraignment but later released with an appearance ticket.
Police say this marks Toledo’s fourth arrest since September 17 for similar crimes involving theft from vehicles and drug possession.
