A Port Byron man was arrested late Saturday night after deputies say he was caught speeding through Waterloo and driving drunk.
Seneca County Sheriff Tim Thompson said Timothy M. Smart, 35, was pulled over around 11:09 p.m. on October 4 after deputies spotted him speeding on State Route 96 in a 40 MPH zone.
During the traffic stop, deputies conducted a DWI investigation and took Smart into custody. He refused to submit to chemical testing, according to the Sheriff’s Office.
Smart was taken to the Seneca County Law Enforcement Center, where he was processed and held for Central Arraignment Court.
He faces charges of driving while intoxicated, a misdemeanor, and speeding, a traffic violation.
