Runners from across the country packed the streets of Steuben County for the 44th annual Wineglass Marathon and Half Marathon, according to WENY News.
Dennis Ryan, a New York City runner and Ithaca College grad, took first place with a time of 2:25:23. Sadie James, now living in Sayre, was the top female finisher at 2:48:57. Both were first-time Wineglass participants, and both credited the community and camaraderie for their success.
More than two-thirds of this year’s runners were women. The event also raised money for local nonprofits, with over $900,000 donated since 2011.
